The Gale-Night Takings
A coastal lifeboat station in a gale
The briefing
You arrive soaked through, called by the harbour authority. Three crew members were alone in the station while the rest were at sea. The wind is still howling, the lights are barely back, and every one of them has a tidy story ready.
The Bellmouth Lifeboat Station's annual fundraising takings, four thousand pounds kept in a steel-banded cash box, were found gone when the crew returned from a callout at 9:40 p.m. The box was still there. The money was not.
The suspects
- Maren Tolliver, Coxswain's deputy
- Desmond Quill, Station mechanic
- Isla Prewitt, Volunteer crew member
