The Marguerite Pearls
A seaside hotel in the off season
The briefing
You arrive on a wet, windswept morning to a hotel with only three staff members left in residence. The owner has summoned you in secret, rather than the local police, hoping to keep the scandal from the papers.
The Marguerite pearl necklace, the Tidewater Hotel's most treasured heirloom, has been stolen. The bare velvet cushion that held it was discovered at 6:15 in the morning by the duty clerk. The pearls have vanished without a trace.
