The Lantern Market Lift
A snowy Christmas market after closing time
The briefing
You arrive as the last carols fade and the stallholders huddle by the braziers. The organiser has called you in before the police are told. Five people had the run of the market, and one of them knows exactly where the cashbox went.
The Gilded Lantern Christmas Market's charity cashbox, holding the whole weekend's takings for the town's winter food fund, was found gone when the stalls were counted at half past ten on the final night.
