The Last Page of Odile Marsh
A cramped bookshop on the night of a launch party
The briefing
You arrive to find the launch party in uproar and the shop door locked. Three people were in the building when the folder emptied, and each swears innocence. The owner wants the manuscript back before the guests leave and the story reaches the papers.
The only handwritten manuscript of Odile Marsh's debut novel has vanished from the shop during her launch party. Its ribbon-tied folder was found empty at nine o'clock, just as she stepped up to read the opening chapter aloud.
The suspects
- Harriet Voss, Bookshop owner
- Desmond Pryce, Rival publisher
- Ines Okafor, Literary agent
