The Midnight Horn
A smoky jazz club on New Year's Eve
The briefing
You arrive as the last guests are herded into the bar. Owner Ruby Ashdown wants answers before anyone leaves the building. Three people from the staff and the bill are still here, all of them uneasy, all of them with reasons to be.
The Midnight Horn, the Blue Door Club's legendary gold trumpet, has vanished. The band reached for it for the countdown encore and found it gone, and the loss was discovered at five past midnight.
The suspects
- Marcus Bell, Head bartender
