The Kingfisher Panel
A holiday narrowboat moored on a misty canal
The briefing
You step aboard Kingfisher at her mooring above Willowbend Lock, where five people share the narrow decks and none will quite meet your eye. The owner wants the saboteur named before the festival marshals arrive to inspect the entries.
Kingfisher's hand-painted cabin door panel, her entry for the Willowbend Boat Festival judging, was found wrecked when the crew woke at seven in the morning. Its roses and herons are ruined beyond mending.
The suspects
- Alma Pryce, Deckhand
- Barnaby Holt, Hire-fleet engineer
- Cecily Dunmore, Retired festival judge
- Dougal Finch, Lock-keeper
- Edith Marsh, Ship's cook and amateur painter
